...influences? Dead Boys to MC5 to Angry Samoans to Richard Hell to the Gun Club to The Buzzcocks to The Mummies to The Oblivions...."Loud, frenzied and intense"!
"Just like the Baseball Furies, they're like a gang of vigilantes. They lure you in with a catchy bass line or drum beat and before you know it you've been thrown from one concrete cider block wall to another, drenched in sweat, hope, and cheap beer and just when it is all too much and overwhelming, well that's when the ass kicking completely begins, and right about when you're so drunk euphoric with the sensation of rock, they are, oh, about half way through their first song. It's like love and life... it hurts good ! It's like gettin back at every stupid asshole in high school that called you a faggot or slut because you know they never had the capacity to ever feel this good...ever. And while you're in proverbial rock-n-roll heaven you're thankful that you're not a square sittin on the couch hoping that there's still potato chips for the football game. Finally revenge. There are bands that sound great on vinyl, there are bands that sound better live, but the BBFs rule both. They confuse you out of inhibitions with the layers of guitars and drums, they calm you into a safety dance, then they assault you with their lyrics, all while you are cluelessly smiling, shakin your ass, and tapping your ankle. They completely pull you into their ranting and screaming and lull you with their music; they make you want to drink their Kool-Aid! After all is said and done, I'm glad to say that punk rock is still alive, and even though I didn't get to hear my favorite song this time, I'm already countin the days until I get to do it all over again. In any case the Baseball Furies are definitely a must see...." -Shannon Bozeman
