F.U.2. "Punk Rock"
Released in 1977 under the pseudonym F.U.2, the band consisted of a reformation of the Downliners Sect who originally formed in 1962. In 1976 they got back together and released this album under a punk moniker after seeing reverberations of the original punk movement going on in the UK. Even though Downliners Sect were more of a 60's garage rock band, they still had a punk-like attitude.
The 12 songs they recorded for this LP had the sound and spunk of a much younger band, all things encompassing what was punk rock to be. Hard to believe they were formed 15 years prior to this album. Regardless this is a real solid album and one that has stood the test of time.
