Mayne it's goin' down this weekend in H-Town and then for the rest of August it's goin' down all over the place else as well and such.
Saturday you really need to check out these events...
Firstly lets not miss out on Lil J da Mex Connects Birthday Bash and listening party. Any and all media and DJ's in Houston need to come out at 8 p.m. to the TOC Bar downtown on Franklin for your exclusive first listen to his album Both Sides of da Game. It's off the chain.
Then if you wanna switch it up a lil bit and check out a live band, Lower Life Form has got that for you at the Proletariat. They've always been real innovative but now they are taking it to the next level. Show starts at 12 midnight sharp with the premier of their new video. P.S. COMP ONE WILL BE ONT HE WHEELS OF STEEL! FIRST SHOW SINCE HIS ACCIDENT!
Here's a samplin'!
Speaking of videos, I mean bideos, THE MAN CHINGO BLING IS LOOKING FOR YOU!
No, not you internet nerds, your hot sisters and such. And people with cars. Chingos album THEY CAN'T DEPORT US ALL is one of the most important records of the summer. The cover alone is more powerful than any other rap record this year. That's real talk. I love UGK and Devin music more than almost anything else, but um, it's time someone from the hip-hop world tackled the immigration debate. The man is taking a HUGE risk. Support that.
THEN SUNDAY NIGHT IT'S GOIN' DOWN REALLY FOR REAL!
We've got another incredibly dope event sponsored by Red Bull. If you were are the Red Bull Big Tune event last month at Venue, you know how we do, we do it big! Sunday come out to Club Taylors and see some of Houston's dopest up and coming B-Boys and B-Girls get down on the floor along side local legends Havikoro and Breakdancers from around the world. I know Ken Swift, Zulu Gremlin and members of the Rock Steady Crew will be in the house. If you have never been to Taylors, make this your first trip to this dope spot in Hiram Clark. For real, it's off the chain in there and the B-Boys and B-Girls will have plenty of space to rock.
Straight up this is an event you don't want to miss. It's free and you don't have to RSVP or anything, just show up and party with us. For more information go to this website:

Taylors is at 13100 South Post Oak on that south side.
THEN NEXT WEDNESDAY AUGUST 8TH ITS FINALLY HERE! ROCK THE BELLS IS COMING TO HOUSTON!!!!
Wu Tang Clan, David Banner, Nas, Pharoah Monch and MORE will grace the stage so def get out there and see Pharoah Monch and David Banner. HA!
And everybody else as well.
Word to Frank 151. And Bacardi 151 as well for that matter. I love that shit.
Then a lil down the road a piece, one week after the Ozone Awards - which you should be casting your votes for DEVIN THE DUDE and THE REST OF HOUSTON TOO in now - you want to be in either Dallas or Lake Charles. As evidenced by the flyers below.
Money Waters and Mr. Lucci and Thesis with live bands? You have got to luh dat.
But that same weekend in Lake Charles, LA it's CRUNK FEST!
Summer ain't over yet y'all.
Also be sure to check out KENIKA in the new SPIN Magazine on shelves now with Interpol on the cover on the SONGS YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD NOW page. She's also featured on Allfemaleemcees.com.
GET TRAE'S NEW MIXTAPE HERE CUZ YOU NEED THIS IN YO LIFE!
WORD TO THE HOUSTON PRESS! Devin the Dude get Songwriter of the Year and Local Musician of the Year Awards! It seems as though there is justice in this world.
Please do me a favor too and go vote for him in the Ozone Awards. The Dudes time is way past due and it's time to take it to that otha level of the game. I'ma be out there, I think I'ma bring Blowfly as my official security.
Also be sure to support my man NoSaprise in his endeavors!

When: August 18, 2007, 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Where: Zoe Learning Academy, 6701 Cullen Blvd. 77021
OUR MISSION: "We Give a Jam” is a family event aimed at raising school supplies for Houston area schools that do not have the resources to provide their students with adequate supplies for the upcoming school year. This years event will be held at the adopted school, Zoe Learning Academy. It will be an opportunity for the community and it's children to see not only positive, but relatable role models encouraging them to better themselves by staying in school and showing what a POSITIVE impact hip-hop can have on our youth. There will be a 2 on 2 breakdancing battle, live music, dance exhibitions, community speakers, food, games, face painting and reading programs for children.
This is a non-profit event to help an area school and all donations are greatly needed. Each company that donates to the "We Give a Jam/Community Outreach" will have their business advertised on the event flyer and at the event. Individual donors are also welcomed and will be acknowledged at the event. Any sponsors or vendors willing to donate will help provide food and necessary supplies for “We Give a Jam“. The overflow will be used to buy school supplies for Zoe Learning Academy.
People wishing to attend “We Give a Jam” or enter the breakdancing battle will be asked to bring $7.00 in school supplies as their entry fee. As a community outreach program, this fee will be waived for area families who are unable to afford it.
If you have any further questions regarding sponsoring or volunteering for this event please feel free to contact Nosa Edebor at any of the addresses at the top of the page. Thank you in advance for helping in the success of this fund raiser and supporting the community.
