Public Image Limited - Memories

On this date in 1979, Public Image Ltd released their third single, "Memories". It was backed by "Another". The A side appeared on their second album (or collection, in this case), Metal Box. The B side was a non-LP track. The single reached the #60 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The London post-punk band, fronted by John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) formerly of Sex Pistols, lasted until 1993.
